Benjamin Melot The Road to Dakar

My story
My name is Benjamin Melot, I am 30 years old, born March 6, 1989. Originally from Lons le Saunier, in the Jura, I like to go back to my native region, and enjoy this fabulous landscape. I entered the world of Rally Raid in 2010, as a mechanic for the best drivers in the discipline, within the Factory KTM Red Bull team.
I am now an amateur rally-raid pilot, and 2019 Bajas World Champion!
DAKAR RALLY
The Dakar has always been a dream for me.
After I had the opportunity to participate as a technician, I immediately thought that I would one day do the Dakar as a pilot.
So I took advantage of all these years to accumulate experience and maturity to tackle this adventure in the best conditions.
I learned a lot from being around the best riders in the world!
After a 2018 Dakar cut short due to a mechanical breakdown during the 8th stage, I took the start of the 2019 edition more motivated than ever! I finished 21st and first French! Unbelievable!
In 2020, I wanted to start again, but in the "Original by Motul" category, that is to say, without assistance, without mechanic.
I would manage everything on my own!
I want to thank all my partners and friends who made my dream come true!
